Why the need for a thermal lance?

Cylinder clevis pins stuck? Sometimes the only way to remove a frozen pin is to thermal lance it. We're professionals at using a thermal lance for removing pins. First, we blow a hole through the pin to allow for the pin to shrink. When the hole is completely through the pin, we shock cool it with water to allow it to shrink rapidly and break free from the rust on the bore. After it cools completely to the touch, we hit it with a sledge hammer and it walks right out.

After years of perfecting our techniques, we've been able to remove the most difficult pins from heavy equipment. Our experience allows us to make custom and tooling for applications where there is limited access or the pin can only be removed in one direction.
